Dr Charlotte Chambers

Dr Charlotte Chambers is the Principal Analyst (Policy and Research) at the Association of Salaried Medical Specialists (ASMS). Charlotte’s work for the ASMS has focussed on different dimensions of the health and well-being of the senior medical workforce. She has researched and published on issues such as rates of presenteeism, burnout and bullying affecting senior doctors and dentists in New Zealand. Other research has examined intentions to leave the public medical workforce and how well supported senior doctors and dentists feel if they wish to breastfeed upon return from parental leave. Charlotte is a former lecturer in human geography at the University of Otago and completed her PhD at the University of Edinburgh. She is currently researching the question of gender bias in medicine.
